Body of DJ Tete Found in Sugarcane Field With Hands Tied Behind Back

Kanchanaburi: The body of DJ Tete was discovered tied up and abandoned in a sugarcane field in Kanchanaburi, following a frantic search by his family since the night of May 14. The murder appears to have been motivated by a love affair.

According to Thai News Agency, the case unfolded when DJ Tete was reportedly followed by a car before being abducted in the early hours of May 14. The incident took place in a village along Saeng Chuto Road, Tambon Tha Makham, Amphoe Mueang, Kanchanaburi Province. Desperate for help, DJ Tete’s father released a video on Facebook appealing for information about his missing son. The DJ was eventually found dead in the middle of a sugarcane field at the foot of a hill in Ban Thung Na Nang Ngok.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. today, Mr. Thanapol Suea San, the headman of Thung Na Nang Ngok village, was informed by locals about the grim discovery. The body was found by the uncle of Mr. Golf, a villager who stumbled upon it while foraging in the forest. The body was lying on its side with its hands tied behind its back. Mr. Golf, after being informed by his uncle, notified the village headman, who then reported the incident to Lat Ya Police Station. The clothing on the body matched the description circulated in media reports.

The location of the body was about 2 kilometers from the main road leading into the sugarcane field, situated under a high-voltage electric pole. A forensic team from Region 7 Police, along with doctors from the local hospital, was dispatched to conduct an autopsy. Due to the remote and difficult terrain, the area was secured with ropes to preserve evidence while waiting for the forensic team. Entry was restricted, allowing forensic officers to examine the site first, followed by the media. The difficult access required 4-wheel drive vehicles as the path was steep and slippery due to recent rain.

Family members, including DJ Tete’s father and girlfriend, arrived at the scene but were not permitted to enter the area where the body was found. They waited outside while authorities retrieved the body. DJ Tete’s father, residing in Kalasin Province, expressed his grief and disbelief at the cruelty of the murder, demanding that justice be swiftly served for his son, who had been working as a DJ for five months.

Before his disappearance, DJ Tete had accepted an entertainment job in Kanchanaburi. He had phoned his friend Nam, mentioning that a car was following him. The call abruptly ended, prompting his family and girlfriend to report him missing to the police and on social media. Police investigations revealed that his mobile phone signal had been lost near Khao Hua Lon, leading them to search the forest where they found a car wheel matching CCTV footage of the vehicle seen following him.

The discovery of DJ Tete’s body, 20 km from the abduction site, revealed he had been shot in the head. The investigation linked a suspect named “Mui,” known as a local drug dealer with an outstanding arrest warrant. Mui had reportedly warned DJ Tete to stay away from his girlfriend, Nam, suggesting jealousy as the motive for the murder.
