Cabinet Approves Wage Rates Based on Skill Standards for 13 Professions

Bangkok: The Cabinet has approved new wage rates aligned with skill standards for 13 different professions, as revealed by Mr. Anukul Prueksanusak, Deputy Government Spokesperson. This decision follows the Wage Committee’s announcement on wage rates according to skill standards (No. 14) dated April 9, 2025. The rates are set to be published in the Government Gazette and will become effective 90 days after publication. The Ministry of Labor (MOL) spearheaded the initiative, basing the wage rates on extensive data collected from business establishments, employees, those who passed the national labor skill standards test, and the nature of work in each field.

According to Thai News Agency, the process also involved assessing the payment of actual wages in the labor market and employers’ ability to pay. Seminars were organized to gather opinions from employers and employees across various professions, which aided in drafting the wage rates. The finalized wage rates for the 13 skill standards fields are as follows:

1) Public tourist bus driver, Level 1, wage 600 baht/day
