Rayong: Dow Thailand Group (Dow) continues to uphold sustainability standards as eight products in the styrene monomer and polystyrene groups have had their certifications renewed for the second year by the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), bringing the total number of products in the Dow Group to receive carbon footprint labels for 33 products and global warming reduction labels for 26 products.
According to Thai News Agency, Ekasit Laknanithipant, Senior Executive Vice President, Joint Venture Business, Dow, revealed that the products that received the renewal of the Global Warming Reduction Label certification this time can reduce greenhouse gas emissions more than the criteria set by the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO, reducing by more than 2% from the base year, covering everything from raw material acquisition to the production process at Dow Thailand Group factories in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong Province.
For the 8 products, they consist of the Styrene Monomer group, which is the main raw material for the production of polystyrene plastic pellets, synthetic rubber, and EPS foam for construction, and the Polystyrene plastic pellets group, general-purpose types 656D and 685D, and high-impact types A-tech 1175, A-tech 1180, 438, 470/486M, and XQ83180, which are commonly used in the production of various electrical appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and televisions. All of these products go through a manufacturing process that focuses on reducing environmental impacts. These products will help customers produce products with a lower carbon footprint.
