Envicco is delighted to receive T-VER carbon credit certification.

Envicco, a company in PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited or GC Group, has received its first certification of greenhouse gas emissions (carbon credits) equivalent to 18,254 tons of carbon dioxide through the Standard Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (Standard T-VER) from the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO.

Mr. Natthanan Sirirak, Managing Director of Envicco Co., Ltd., revealed that the company has been certified for greenhouse gas emissions under the name of ‘Plastic waste sorting and recovery from solid waste to plastic resin by ENVICCO Co., Ltd.’, which is the first project in Thailand to receive carbon credit certification from solid waste management activities using voluntary greenhouse gas reduction methods for sorting and recovering plastic from waste.

‘Receiving carbon credit certification from TGO is another important step for Envicco, reinforcing its leadership in recycling used plastics in Thailand. Carbon credits can be used in carbon offs
et activities, such as organizations, products, conferences, events, or individuals, to support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (Carbon Offset) or to offset the total amount released from activities to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions (Carbon Neutrality). It is also an important force in the plastic recycling business for the GC Group, developing environmentally friendly products (Sustainable Products), and focusing on creating a complete product circulation system (Circularity),’ said Mr. Natthanan.

Envicco has started collecting data on the amount of greenhouse gas emissions reduction from the project to separate and recover plastic from waste to produce plastic pellets in the factory area located in the Asia Industrial Estate, Rayong Province by using plastic waste from domestic consumption in Thailand as raw materials through the separation, cleaning, and production processes with innovations and technologies that meet international standards until the product is a high-quality recycled pl
astic pellet that can be used in many ways, especially to replace the original plastic in the original product group. It has also been registered for the Carbon Footprint Product (CFP) with a CFP value that is 60% lower than the CFP of the original plastic pellets. The company has a production capacity of up to 45,000 tons of recycled plastic pellets per year, supporting the circular economy in using more than 430,000 tons of used plastics during the project period of 7 years (2023-2029), which is expected to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 574,700 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
