Monporn Promotes Global Partnerships to Propel Thai Aviation Industry

Bangkok: “Monporn” supports the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand to discuss with world-class partners to accelerate the development of personnel and technology. The Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AEROTHAI) is collaborating with international partners to advance technology, enhance human resource capabilities, and foster aviation knowledge, aiming to position Thailand as a leading aviation hub in the region.

According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Manoporn Charoensri, Deputy Minister of Transport, highlighted the rapid growth of the aviation industry, emphasizing the urgent need for technological advancements and personnel development. She has directed AEROTHAI to engage with global partners to exchange knowledge and experiences, thereby accelerating aviation development and positively impacting the regional aviation sector.

Mr. Noppasit Chakpitak, President of AEROTHAI, stated that under the Ministry of Transport’s policy, AEROTHAI organized the Next Wave APAC Aviation Technologies through Synergy conference in February 2025. The event gathered air navigation service providers from the Asia-Pacific region to strategize on the implementation of new technologies for air navigation services. Key technologies discussed included Next-Generation AeroMACS, Space-based VHF and ADS-B, Cloud-Based UTM/ATM, and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) to enhance communication, efficiency, and security in aviation operations. The conference also proposed the creation of the Insight Exchange Forum for sharing technological insights among Asia-Pacific countries.

Ms. Tipaporn Nipakarn, Deputy Managing Director, announced that AOT will host the Asia and Pacific ANSP Committee (AAC) meeting in March 2025 to explore advancements in air navigation services. AOT’s involvement in regional and international working groups, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), aims to integrate new aviation technologies into Thailand’s operations. Furthermore, AOT is collaborating with educational and research institutions to implement a personnel development plan under ICAO’s NGAP guidelines, focusing on air traffic services, standards, and engineering to support industry growth. The initiative is part of AOT’s broader strategy to foster aviation technology development and digital transformation for sustainable air travel in Thailand.
