The National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) is preparing to create an index to measure the well-being of Thai society, supporting the creation of physical health, a strong economy, cultural capital, and a safe society.
Mrs. Naphatchol Thongsomjit, Policy and Planning Advisor of the National Economic and Social Development Board, said that the index of well-being in Thai society will improve. All parties must jointly develop the conceptual framework, the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, the BCG economic model, sustainable development goals, and the concept of resilience. Physical well-being, a strong and fair economy, cultural capital, a fair and safe society must be promoted to control diabetes, blood pressure, and stress. Breastfeeding must be promoted as the first vaccine to prevent various diseases in old age. The family is the best starting point. If the family is happy, it will reduce social problems. Taking care of the living environment, family life, and good management will be done to
create a data system of indicators under the developed index in terms of quantity and quality to be able to be used for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting results in a timely manner to support the 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan as much as possible.
