Sakda Files Defamation Complaint Against Nattawut Over Bo Phloi District Photos

Kanchanaburi: Sakda Wichiensilp, Deputy Minister of the Interior, has filed a defamation complaint against Nattawut Saikua, a former advisor to the Prime Minister, following the release of photos allegedly taken in the Bo Phloi District Chief’s office. The photos were posted on Nattawut’s personal Facebook page, accusing Sakda of issuing orders and planning a luncheon with local leaders. Sakda, who was on leave, explained he was there to meet his daughter, a candidate in the upcoming by-election.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sakda traveled to the Lao Khwan Police Station in Kanchanaburi Province to formally lodge the complaint. The tension surrounding the by-election in Constituency 4 has intensified due to these allegations, which Sakda states are unfounded.

Sakda clarified that his visit to the Bo Phloi District Office was solely to see his daughter, Ms. Wisuda Wichiensin, who is campaigning for the Bhumjaithai Party. He emphasized there were no discussions regarding the by-election scheduled for October 19, 2025, and expressed his belief that the release of the photos is a political maneuver by Nattawut, who is assisting a rival candidate from the Pheu Thai Party.

Determined to address the issue legally, Sakda stated that he would not seek any compromise and intends to pursue the matter vigorously in court.
