The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and SAM have joined hands to promote knowledge on debt management for the third consecutive year, aiming to increase strong financial skills and financial immunity among Thais at large. It is expected that the knowledge will reach a target group of over 100,000 people per year.
Mr. Atsadej Kongsiri, Director and Managing Director of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), and Ms. Nartnaree Rattapat, Managing Director of Sukhumvit Asset Management Co., Ltd. (SAM), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on promoting knowledge on finance, investment, debt management, and promoting social and environmental sustainability.
Mr. Asadet said that the Stock Exchange of Thailand places importance on building a foundation of financial knowledge for the public, which is a necessary skill in life, in line with the concept of co-creating the future for everyone’s opportunities. ‘Sukhumvit Asset Management Co., Ltd. is one of the partners who have jointly developed content and media on debt management, as well as using the learning model for financial mentors, who are representatives of the organization in passing on knowledge and creating a good financial culture. The signing of the MOU to promote financial literacy and debt management with Sukhumvit Asset Management Co., Ltd. this time is the third consecutive year, showing the commitment to jointly drive the mission of creating knowledge and understanding and strengthening financial skills for Thais to have a better financial life and sustainable financial immunity,’ said Mr. Atsadet.
Ms. Nartnaree said that the signing of the MOU this time is a continuation of the cooperation with the Stock Exchange of Thailand in Phase 2 (2024-2026) after the successful cooperation in Phase 1 (2022-2024). SAM and the Stock Exchange of Thailand have a common goal to elevate and promote knowledge and understanding in finance, investment, a
nd debt management for the general public, service users, personnel, and customers of SAM. The Debt Clinic by SAM project, with the knowledge and media jointly developed, plays an important role in enabling SAM to expand its work to the target group in a tangible way, resulting in more efficient and effective household financial management. This project is in line with the government’s urgent policy to help reduce the country’s household debt problem for long-term economic sustainability.
