Bangkok: SME D Bank has implemented urgent measures to support SME entrepreneurs impacted by the recent earthquake, including a 12-month suspension of principal and interest payments, as well as emergency funds to aid in business rehabilitation.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichit Mitrawong, the Managing Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank), expressed concern for customers and SME entrepreneurs affected by the earthquake on March 28, 2025. In response, the bank has introduced measures to help entrepreneurs quickly resume their businesses. These measures include the suspension of principal and interest payments for customers in disaster-designated areas for up to 12 months. Additionally, revolving fund contracts in the form of promissory notes and factoring loans will be extended for 180 days, with an option to suspend interest payments.

The bank is also offering ‘Emergency Funding for Business Repair and Restoration’ for customers directly impacted by the disaster. The loans will carry an MLR interest rate, with a repayment period of three years and a 12-month principal payment exemption. No collateral is required, and the process is simplified to expedite assistance.
