The Prime Minister revealed that the Cabinet has ordered the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to discuss with relevant agencies to urgently prevent PM 2.5 dust.

The Cabinet has ordered the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to discuss with relevant agencies to urgently prevent PM 2.5 dust and has approved the National Security Council to resolve the nationality and personal status issues for minorities and ethnic groups in Thailand from 270 days to 5 days. It has confirmed that it will urgently pay compensation to flood victims in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province within this year.

Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, revealed after the cabinet meeting that the meeting ordered Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, and Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, to discuss with relevant agencies to expedite action and prevent and solve the PM 2.5 dust problem, which they want to prepare as soon as possible because i
t is now the winter season, including the agricultural sector, what measures will be taken, such as not buying corn and sugarcane burned both domestically and internationally, including the dust and smoke problem caused by cars, and the industrial sector, which must ask for cooperation from ministers of various ministries, such as the Ministry of Transport, which must strictly inspect cars, and the Ministry of Industry, which must issue measures to control industrial factories more strictly.

In addition, the Cabinet meeting approved in principle the National Security Council (NSC)’s proposal for expedited resolution of nationality and personal status issues for people who have immigrated to the Kingdom for a long time, including those born in the Kingdom. Currently, there are 825,635 ethnic minorities in Thailand, leaving 483,626 people awaiting status consideration. The NSC therefore requests approval of the criteria based on the original framework and target groups, but with conditions and criteria to faci
litate implementation, such as adjusting the overall processing time from 270 days to 5 days.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the ‘Thailand Winter Festivals’ project, which aims to attract foreign tourists, both Thai and foreign, to visit Thailand. The government wants to build confidence in tourists and reminds all relevant agencies to maintain safety for tourists. Importantly, the provinces where flooding occurred are ready to welcome tourists, including measures to maintain cleanliness and transportation systems that must provide good service and be a way for Thais to travel with Thais and foreigners.

As for the case of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, which has been repeatedly flooded 3 times and has not yet received compensation, the Prime Minister said that the NESDB is aware of the matter, but the compensation will be received soon because the criteria are currently being considered. If the criteria are passed, compensation can be paid immediately. It is believed that compensation will definitely
be received by the end of this year.

The reporter asked again that in the past, he had received compensation for the whole year. The Prime Minister asked back, which year was this? It’s not the same anymore. -316 – Thai News Agency
