Bangkok: The Meteorological Department warns the North, Central, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the upper South that there will be thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail in some areas. After that, the temperature in the upper part of Thailand will drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts 24-hour weather for the northern, central regions including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the upper southern region. There will be thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail in some areas, and lightning may occur. In the northeastern and eastern regions, rain will persist. Subsequently, the upper part of Thailand will experience a drop in temperature by 1-3 degrees Celsius, accompanied by strong winds in the northeastern region. This change is attributed to a high-pressure area or a relatively strong cold air mass from China spreading to the northeastern region and the South China Sea, expected to cover the northern, central, and eastern regions today. Residents in these areas are advised to exercise caution against summer storms. Travelers should avoid areas with thunderstorms or being in open areas, under large trees, weak buildings, and billboards. Farmers are urged to secure their fruit trees and prepare to mitigate potential damage to agri
cultural products and livestock, as well as taking necessary health precautions during the weather transition.
The easterly and southeasterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea are strengthening, resulting in increased rainfall in the South with heavy rain in some areas. Waves in the Gulf of Thailand are intensifying, with the lower Gulf experiencing waves 2-3 meters high, and higher in areas with thunderstorms. The upper Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will have waves 1-2 meters high, reaching over 2 meters in thunderstorm-affected areas. Southern residents should be alert to heavy rain risks, and sailors are advised to avoid navigating through thunderstorms. Small boats in the lower Gulf of Thailand and the remote Andaman Sea should remain ashore until March 20, 2025.
Dust and smog accumulation in the upper part of Thailand remains at a good to moderate level due to rain and stronger winds, while the northern region experiences moderate to high levels due to weak winds.
