Anutin’s First Cabinet Formation: Key Appointments and Quotas Revealed

Bangkok: It's starting to come together! The list of "Anutin's 1st Cabinet" has been revealed, with 5 seats allocated to outsiders. The list of cabinet members for Anutin 1 has begun to be finalized. Bhumjaithai Party will have 12 seats, with 5 seats allocated to outsiders. Former Bank of Thailand Governor Sethaput will be appointed as Finance Minister.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters noted that after Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, party-list MP and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, received approval from the House of Representatives to assume the position of Prime Minister, the formation of the "Anutin 1 Cabinet" immediately shifted. A quota allocation was made based on the number of votes announced to form a minority government, totaling 146. The Bhumjaithai Party secured 12 seats, while the Klatham Party received 7 seats, and the Palang Pracharath Party was allocated 4 seats. Other groups, including those led by Mr. Suchart Chomklin and Mr. Sakda Wichiensin, received smaller allocations.

For the Bhumjaithai Party, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul will serve as both Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior. Ms. Sabida Thaiset has been appointed Deputy Minister of Interior, and Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob will take on the role of Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. Supamas Isaraphakdi will move to the position of Minister of Digital Economy and Society, while Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn has been named Minister of Transport. Meanwhile, Mr. Paradorn Prisananantakul has been appointed as the new Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office.

Regarding the five outsider quotas, Mr. Sethaput Suthiwatnarueput, former Governor of the Bank of Thailand, will serve as the Minister of Finance. Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow has been appointed Minister of Energy, and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew will become the Minister of Commerce. Reports suggest that Mr. Chatuporn Buruspat will remain in the Ministry of Commerce, while the Ministry of Justice is still finalizing its appointment.

For the Kla Tham Party, seven seats have been proposed, including Defense Minister Colonel Thammanat Prompao. Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn will be the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat the Minister of Education, and Mr. Akara Prompao the Minister of Social Development and Human Security. While deputy minister positions remain unconfirmed, Mr. Ong-art Wongprayoon and Mr. Samphan Mayuso are contenders.

The Palang Pracharath Party's four seats include Santi Promphat as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health. The party also proposed the Minister of Defense position for General Nat Inthacharoen. Other seats are designated for Trinuch Thienthong and Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, though specific ministries are still being confirmed.

Mr. Suchart Chomklin's group anticipates his appointment as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, while Petty Officer 1st Class Yotsingh Liamlert is expected to become the Minister of Industry. Reports indicate further discussions on cabinet positions will occur this evening following the Prime Ministerial vote.
