During the match, Arsenal dominated the first half, with Victor Jokeres opening the scoring in the 14th minute. The lead was extended in the 35th minute when Leandro Trossard's cross found Declan Rice, who secured the second goal with a header.

Post-match, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta acknowledged a dip in his team's performance during the second half but expressed satisfaction with the outcome. He commended the players for maintaining a strong defense and achieving a clean sheet.

In other matches, Liverpool secured a 2-0 home victory against Aston Villa.
