Government Disburses Over 1.3 Billion Baht to Thai-Cambodian Border Disaster Victims

Bangkok: Money has been transferred to nearly 300,000 households affected by the Thai-Cambodian border disaster. A government spokesman revealed that the government has transferred money to victims of the Thai-Cambodian border situation 10 times, reaching nearly 300,000 households, totaling more than 1.3 billion baht.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has provided assistance to those affected by the disaster caused by foreign forces along the Thai-Cambodian border, as approved by the Cabinet. The budget sanctioned for this aid covers 315,476 households, amounting to 1,515.967 million baht.

The Prime Minister's Office spokesperson stated that the program is accepting registrations for relief funds for people who have been evacuated for eight days or more, with 5,000 baht allocated per household. For evacuations lasting no more than seven days, the program provides 2,000 baht per household. A total of 325,347 households have registered for the aid, with 297,368 households passing through the Provincial Disaster Relief Committee (P.C.P.C.), and 296,569 households facilitated through the Government Savings Bank.

A total of 10 aid transfers have been executed on specific dates throughout October 2025. Successful transfers have reached 294,658 households, totaling 1,316.075 million baht. However, registration was unsuccessful for 1,167 households due to issues such as not registering with PromptPay or having irregular account numbers. The next transfer, scheduled to be the 11th, will occur in Ubon Ratchathani and Sa Kaeo provinces on November 5, 2025, targeting 744 households as of October 31, 2025.
