Bangkok: Chaichanok Chidchob has clarified that Anutin Charnvirakul's announcement to wait for a signal on December 12th should not be perceived as a threat to the Pheu Thai Party regarding a no-confidence motion. He expressed confidence in the readiness of the Bhumjaithai Party (B.T.P.) to face any challenges and emphasized that the House of Representatives would only be dissolved if it fulfilled its Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and aimed to return power to the people.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaichanok, who serves as the Minister of Digital Economy and Society and Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed concerns related to the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul's statement. Chaichanok noted that waiting for signals on December 12th was a reflection of the party's commitment to completing tasks under the MoA. He stressed the importance of focusing on immediate issues while keeping the option of returning power to the people open once the MoA objectives are met.
In response to questions about a potential dissolution of Parliament before January 31, 2026, Chaichanok questioned the reasoning behind such interpretations. He stated that the B.T.P. was prepared for a censure debate and that the Prime Minister had no reason for concern. Chaichanok emphasized that the final decision regarding Parliament's dissolution lies with the Prime Minister.
Discussing the likelihood of Parliament being dissolved on January 31, 2026, as per the MoA, Chaichanok acknowledged it as a possibility. He highlighted the importance of adhering to the MoA and reiterated the party's desire to return power to the people in line with their commitments.
