Bangkok: A decorative wall at the Siam Pavalai Paragon cinema collapsed, leading to an immediate emergency closure. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The incident has caused the postponement of showtimes for "Zootopia 2."
According to Thai News Agency, the collapse occurred last night when a decorative ceiling panel inside the Siam Pavalai Paragon Cineplex theater detached, startling many viewers present. Social media images depicted the gold decorative panels and the supporting structure falling apart in several sections.
Preliminary reports confirm no injuries; however, the Paragon Shopping Center has ordered an immediate closure of the cinema to ensure safety and conduct an urgent inspection of the structure.
Major Cineplex Group Public Company Limited released a statement acknowledging the incident as a force majeure event, which has temporarily halted operations. The company has also postponed the "Zootopia 2 Special Screening Thomas-Kong" event indefinitely, promising to announce a new date through their Facebook page and X.
The statement from the company expressed, "We deeply regret and apologize for any inconvenience caused by this incident. We prioritize the safety of our audience."
