Thailand Pickleball Group Promotes Youth Skills Training Across Southern Thailand

Trang: The Thailand Pickleball Group is actively promoting the sport of pickleball among young people in southern Thailand, with a focus on national-level engagement. The group is organizing a workshop aimed at educating youths and students about pickleball at the National Sports University, Trang Campus, slated for December 9th. This initiative is part of a broader effort to expand the player base across the country, with the ultimate goal of cultivating Thai athletes for international competitions.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Thaya Teepsuwan, President of the Thailand Pickleball Group, led a team of executives and experts to Trang Province to teach pickleball skills and rules to students. The workshop's opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wongphat Choodam, Vice Rector of the National Sports University, Trang Campus. The event took place in Meeting Room 2, Faculty of Education, and the volleyball gymnasium on December 9th.

The training session attracted over 60 participants, including junior and senior high school students from Trang Provincial Sports School and students from three main faculties (Faculty of Education, Faculty of Sports Science, and Faculty of Liberal Arts) of the National Sports University. The project is a key mission to promote pickleball widely, aiming to utilize it in teaching and developing the potential of Thai youth to achieve international excellence. Expert instructors provided comprehensive theoretical and practical training in pickleball.

The group also donated equipment, including 20 pickleball sticks, 2 nets, and 24 balls, to facilitate practical training sessions at the participating schools. This effort was supported by partners Conqueror Southeast Asia Co., Ltd. and Boxdrop Online Company Limited.

Ms. Thaya Teepsuwan expressed gratitude to the educational institutions' administrators for acknowledging the importance of this emerging sport. She emphasized that the group's goal is not only to introduce pickleball but to build a strong foundation from a young age and ensure equal opportunities for all Thai children to develop their skills to an international level. The Thailand Pickleball Group plans to conduct training activities for youth in every region of Thailand.
