Bangkok: Thai and Cambodian troops continued to clash fiercely after the 10 PM ceasefire deadline set by the Malaysian Prime Minister passed.
According to Thai News Agency, after Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim set a deadline for Thailand and Cambodia to cease border clashes by 10:00 PM on December 13th, the situation worsened after the deadline. Clashes continued unabated, and as of now, the Army Military Force Facebook page has reported that at 10:26 PM, suicide drones were spotted flying across all fronts. At 11:18 PM, artillery fire was heard at Chong An Ma, Ubon Ratchathani province, and at Phu Makheua, among other areas. Public announcements have been made urging Thai citizens to turn off their lights to avoid becoming targets following the sighting of drones.
At around 11:56 PM, the page posted a video of Cambodian civilians traveling on a highway accompanied by dozens of army vehicles, presumably reinforcements along the border. The page stated, "Several battalions of Cambodian SH-1 self-propelled artillery are moving from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville. Cambodian citizens uploaded the video, stating that the war has spread to Sihanoukville. Location: Highway from Phnom Penh towards Sihanoukville." This shows that the Cambodian side has not agreed to a ceasefire or move weapons and troops as previously stated.
