Actresses Mudmee Pimdao and Data Dralcharas Fall Victim to Karma Cleansing Fraud

Bangkok: Mudmee Pimdao-Data Dralcharas gave additional testimony in the case of being deceived into donating money for karma cleansing by "Ajarn T."

According to Thai News Agency, the case involves actress Mudmee Pimdao and her colleague Data Dralcharas, both of whom have filed police reports against the fraudulent "miracle worker" known as "Ajarn T." Mudmee was defrauded of over 8 million baht, while Data lost money and 18 rai of land in Khao Yai valued at 50 million baht. Accompanied by their lawyer, Wisanu Kantakheaw, the actresses arrived at the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) to provide crucial testimony. Both expressed relief at taking this step, emphasizing their commitment to truthfully presenting their evidence and awaiting the legal proceedings.

Data disclosed that she has not been contacted by the opposing party. However, relatives of individuals still affiliated with the meditation center have sought her guidance. She has been candid with these relatives, though she has refrained from contacting those still involved with the center. Data urged those believers to stay informed through the news, despite the center's efforts to isolate them from external communication. Mudmee shared her experience publicly as a warning, acknowledging her own vulnerability in falling for the deceit. While she wishes to recover her financial losses, she is determined to pursue justice through legal channels, hoping to prevent future occurrences of such fraud.

Mudmee further explained that her susceptibility stemmed from emotional and physical challenges she faced at the time. She sought psychiatric help and practiced meditation, which she attributes to a lack of awareness. Addressing online criticism, she accepts the situation and feels grateful for the support she has received. Her mental health has improved as the case progresses, and she has gained insights into human emotions through her study of psychology, helping her to rebuild her life.

Data remarked that the meditation center continues its operations unabated. Understanding their tactics, she is not surprised by their persistence. She hopes her story serves as a warning about similar donation-based scams. Attorney Wisanu confirmed that a police report has been filed for public fraud, with expectations for further developments. The testimony provided is expected to aid investigators in identifying other victims and pursuing the perpetrators, whose whereabouts remain uncertain.
