Bangkok: The Mall Lifestyle Store has officially launched the JOY LUCK LOVE CHINESE NEW YEAR 2026 event, marking the Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse with an extravagant celebration. The event featured a special appearance by the God Guan Yu and performances by world-class acrobats. This year's festivities are expected to see increased consumer spending, driven by hopes for new government policies that will stimulate spending, promote tourism, and encourage investment.

According to Thai News Agency, The Mall Lifestyle Store collaborated with the Ministry of Culture, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and leading private sector partners to inaugurate the Chinese New Year festival, titled 'THE MALL LIFESTORE JOY LUCK LOVE CHINESE NEW YEAR 2026: The Year of the Fire Horse - A Year of Abundant Fortune.' This event is taking place at The Mall Lifestyle Store Ngamwongwan. A key highlight of the celebration was the ceremonial procession of the deity Guan Yu, conducted in accordance with traditional customs from the Guan Yu Shrine in Khlong San. Dr. Katha Chinbanchorn led the ceremony at a replica of the Guan Yu Heavenly Temple, providing an opportunity for the public to pay respects and receive blessings. Mr. Apichai Aramsi, Deputy Governor of Nonthaburi Province, presided over the ceremony.

Ms. Waralak Tulaporn, Chief Marketing Officer of The Mall Group, emphasized that this year's Chinese New Year celebration at The Mall Lifestyle Store is designed to be a "Chinese Festive Destination," integrating beliefs, culture, lifestyle, tourism, and entertainment. The aim is to create a memorable landmark for families while generating economic, social, and cultural value. She anticipates a 3-5% increase in consumer spending this year, noting a shift in consumer behavior towards valuing money over low prices, and a preference for buying individual items rather than sets.

Ms. Waralak also expressed hope for a swift formation of the government to drive the economy forward. She urged the new government to prioritize public spending, tourism promotion, and investment to rejuvenate the country's economy.

The afternoon saw the opening ceremony for the Year of the Horse Chinese New Year celebration at M GRAND HALL, The Mall Lifestyle Store Bang Khae. The event featured a performance by over 500 performers and includes a range of auspicious activities and entertainment across all branches.
