Thailand Welcomes Nearly 6 Million Foreign Tourists in Early 2026

Bangkok: The government is pleased with the overall tourism situation from January 1st to February 22nd, 2026, with nearly 6 million foreign tourists visiting Thailand. Ms. Airin Phanrit, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Thailand received a total of 5,947,434 foreign tourists during this period, generating approximately 293,119 million baht in revenue from their spending.

According to Thai News Agency, the top five countries with the highest number of tourists were China with 969,505 visitors, followed by Malaysia with 573,323, Russia with 457,250, India with 376,738, and South Korea with 283,623. The influx of tourists is seen as a positive indicator for the country's tourism industry in the early months of 2026.
