Bangkok: The Bank of Thailand's board of directors has appointed Saowanee Thairoongroj as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), taking over from Rapee Sucharitkul, who resigned before completing his term. Her appointment will be effective from February 26, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Duangporn Rodpengsangkhaha, the Assistant Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Thailand, announced that the decision was made during a board meeting on February 25, 2026. Ms. Thairoongroj's term will continue until October 31, 2026, coinciding with the remaining term of the outgoing member, Mr. Sucharitkul.
