Bangkok: Constituency MPs are gradually receiving their certificates from the Election Commission. The MP from the Pheu Thai Party, Udon Thani Constituency 7, was the first from the party to receive his certificate.
According to Thai News Agency, the atmosphere at the Election Commission office was bustling as elected Members of Parliament (MPs) elected through the constituency system gradually arrived to receive their certificates before reporting to the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives.
Since this morning, a total of 17 MPs from various parties have received their documents. The majority are from the Bhumjaithai Party, including Ms. Tuangthip Chintavech, MP for Ubon Ratchathani Constituency 11; Ms. Wanpen Promphat, MP for Phetchabun Constituency 5; and Mr. Akradech Wongpithakroj, MP for Ratchaburi Constituency 4. Mr. Akradech revealed that he came to receive his certification before reporting to Parliament on Wednesday, March 4th, and will return again on March 6th to encourage his fellow MPs who are scheduled to report to Parliament on the same day. He decided to report in advance to avoid crowding.
While among the People's Party MPs, only one, Mr. Suriya Wongaree, MP for Udon Thani Constituency 7, has already received his certification. The Democrat Party, however, has not yet had a single MP receive their certification.
