Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Enhances Monitoring Amid Middle East Tensions

Bangkok: Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (AROT) is actively monitoring and tracking the tense situation in the Middle East, as revealed by Ms. Mallika Chiraphanvanich, Deputy Minister of Transport. During her visit to the Trang and Krabi air traffic control towers, she emphasized the importance of maintaining service standards and enhancing efficiency in light of the ongoing regional instability.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Mallika instructed Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd. (AeroThai) to offer support and facilitate airlines in planning flight routes to circumvent risky areas. She also urged the organization to prepare measures to mitigate impacts from the situation. Coordination with relevant agencies was directed to ensure air traffic management is adjusted appropriately due to international airspace limitations. Additionally, she motivated staff and called for improvements in air traffic services to accommodate full airport capacity. This includes developing modern air navigation aids, reducing flight delays, and efficiently managing flight routes and airspace to bolster tourism in Trang and Krabi provinces and stimulate economic growth.

Mr. Surachai Nuphrom, Deputy Managing Director and Acting Managing Director of Aeronautical Information Service (AIS), stated that AIS has implemented enhanced monitoring and preparedness measures for air navigation services in response to the Middle East conflict. These measures involve Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) to manage air traffic volume in collaboration with aviation agencies globally. Plans for reserve personnel to handle abnormal situations are also in place. Duties and responsibilities may be adjusted as necessary, with strict enforcement of security measures to ensure all flights operate with the highest safety and security standards.
