Bangkok: The Government Savings Fund (GSF) has announced a new initiative allowing for "automatic debit from bank accounts into savings accounts." This move aims to streamline the savings process for users, ensuring they don't miss out on government contributions through the Government Savings Bank (GSB) and the Krungthai NEXT application.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Yanyong Rajanont, the Assistant Secretary-General of the National Savings Fund and Acting Secretary-General of the National Savings Fund Committee, emphasized the importance of "consistency" for long-term financial security. In collaboration with Krungthai Bank, the National Savings Fund has developed an automatic savings account deduction feature via the Krungthai NEXT application. This initiative leverages technology to promote a proactive savings culture in Thailand.
National Savings Fund members can utilize the Krungthai NEXT application to set up automatic deductions. By navigating to the 'Services' menu, users can select 'Automatic Account Deduction' and choose 'Select Service Provider.' By searching for 'National Savings Fund' or code 94955, they can review the terms and conditions, accept them, and proceed to select their account for deductions. Users need to enter their 13-digit national identification number and specify a savings amount between 100-2,500 baht per month. Confirmation will generate an E-Slip as proof of successful registration.
Aside from the Krungthai NEXT application, members can apply for automatic debit services at branches of four state-owned banks: Krungthai Bank, Government Savings Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), and Government Housing Bank (GHB). Account holders need to present their savings passbook, national ID card, and, if applicable, a certified copy of the national ID card of the NSO member. The savings will be deducted on the 20th of the following month.
Self-employed individuals aged 15-60 seeking flexible, non-mandatory savings options with financial security for retirement can apply to save with the National Savings Fund (NSF) immediately.
