Bangkok: Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakon, Minister of Tourism and Sports and registrar of the Kla Tham Party, disclosed insights into the party's approach to the impending vote for the Speaker of the House of Representatives. He emphasized that while key figures within the party, Thammanat Phromphao and Narumon Pinyosinwat, have not imposed their will on party members, they are advocating for a unified stance.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthakorn shared these reflections prior to the House of Representatives meeting, noting that additional discussions were scheduled for this morning to build upon the previous day's deliberations. When journalists inquired about the likelihood of the Kla Tham Party voting in favor, Mr. Atthakorn expressed the necessity for further contemplation before the assembly, highlighting the importance of party unity in the final decision.
During the initial discussions, Mr. Atthakorn described the party's stance as "neutral," despite varied opinions among members. He indicated that the night was given for reflection on these diverse viewpoints.
Furthermore, Mr. Atthakorn clarified that Captain Thamanat Phromphao, the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Kla Tham Party, along with Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat, the Minister of Education and leader of the party, have not exerted any pressure on him. Instead, they have expressed a desire for coordinated movement within the party.
