Prime Minister Sihasak Seeks Iran’s Support for Safe Passage of Thai Crew

Bangkok: Prime Minister Sihasak Srisuk engaged in a telephone discussion with the Iranian Foreign Minister, emphasizing the need for support in aiding the three Thai crew members aboard the Thai cruise ship, Mayuree Naree. He underscored Thailand's commitment to encouraging all parties to engage in negotiation and diplomacy to peacefully resolve the Middle Eastern conflict.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, initiated the dialogue with Mr. Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran. The focal point of their conversation was the request for Iranian assistance in the ongoing rescue mission for the stranded Thai crew members on the USS "Mayureenari." Additionally, the discussion highlighted the importance of ensuring safe passage for Thai commercial vessels navigating through the Strait of Hormuz.

Mr. Sihasak reiterated Thailand's diplomatic stance, urging all involved parties to return to negotiation and diplomatic processes. The aim is to de-escalate the tensions in the Middle East and achieve a peaceful resolution as swiftly as possible.
