Vienna: Prime Minister Srisaket Sihasak held telephone discussions with the Foreign Minister of Kuwait and the Deputy Prime Minister of Jordan, thanking them for taking care of Thai citizens and facilitating their return from the situation in the Middle East. He emphasized the use of diplomacy to bring peace back as quickly as possible.
According to Thai News Agency, today at 11:00 AM local time in Vienna, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, engaged in a telephone discussion with Sheikh Jarrah Jabir Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, and Mr. Ayman Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The discussions took place during the Global Conference on Fraud in Vienna.
The telephone discussions were part of Thailand's expression of support for its regional friends in addressing the situation in the Middle East. The Thai government is actively involved in diplomatic efforts to restore peace, including the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the Middle East situation on March 13, 2026. The discussions also served as an expression of gratitude for the care provided to Thai citizens residing in Kuwait and Jordan, as well as for the facilitation of their return to Thailand.
Both the Kuwaiti and Jordanian representatives reassured their commitment to caring for Thai citizens in their respective countries and assisting those wishing to return to Thailand. They also voiced their concern over the incident involving the "Mayureenari" cruise ship and underscored the significance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the region. Jordan is noted as a strategic location for receiving Thai nationals returning from the Middle East.
