Rumors Suggest Sudawan Fails to Meet Ministerial Qualifications, Nikorn Somklang Tipped as Replacement

Bangkok: Rumors are circulating that Sudawan does not meet the qualifications for the position of Minister of Public Health (Anutin 2). Speculation is rife that Sudawan has not met the necessary qualifications for the ministerial position, prompting "Anutin 2" to consider nominating Nikorn Somklang as her replacement.

According to Thai News Agency, reporters have disclosed that after the submission of documents for background checks and qualifications of prospective ministers in the "Anutin 2" government, Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, who is a party-list MP and deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party, failed the qualification check for the position of Minister of Social Development and Human Security. Despite her name being on the list for the ministerial role, she did not pass the required scrutiny.

Although the position will continue to be part of the Pheu Thai Party's quota, it is reported that Mr. Nikorn Somklang, an MP from Nakhon Ratchasima and a close associate of Ms. Sudawan, is the candidate the Pheu Thai Party is considering to nominate in her stead.

As for the process of appointing the "Anutin 2" cabinet, once the background checks are finalized, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is expected to submit the list of 35 cabinet members to His Majesty the King for royal approval. Following the approval, Mr. Anutin will lead the cabinet to an audience with His Majesty to take the oath of office before they assume their official duties and present the government's policies to Parliament.
