Prime Minister Opens Bang Berd Songkran Festival with Heartfelt Speech

Chumphon: The Prime Minister officially inaugurated the Bang Berd Songkran Festival in Chumphon Province, delivering a speech filled with warm wishes for stress relief and prosperity.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul led the opening ceremony of the "Wan Lai Bang Berd" tourism promotion project at Bang Berd Beach, located in the Pak Khlong Subdistrict of Pathio District. Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at a beachfront bar, eager for photos and expressing their excitement with cheers. He responded with traditional Thai greetings and interacted with the crowd, who playfully sprayed water on him.

In his address, Mr. Anutin emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating, "The people of Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon have so much influence and power that they've managed to bring half the Cabinet to see you." He humorously reflected on the journey to Chumphon, mentioning requests from local MPs to visit the province on his way back from addressing issues in Narathiwat. He expressed his delight at being by the sea, joking about his attire, and introduced the MPs accompanying him with a light-hearted apology for not recalling all their names due to the large turnout.

Mr. Anutin spoke candidly, veering away from a prepared script to share his genuine feelings. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and wished everyone enjoyment during the Songkran festival. Highlighting the positive impact of the visit, he noted how meeting the people of Chumphon relieved his stress, bringing him happiness. Concluding his speech, he offered blessings for prosperity, good health, fulfilled wishes, longevity, and wealth to all attendees before departing for Bangkok.
