Anutin Urges Caution Following Gunfire Incident at White House Dinner

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul has issued a warning about the need for heightened caution after an alarming incident at the White House, where President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were evacuated due to gunfire during a dinner party.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin was questioned by reporters about the White House incident while he was about to attend a "Homecoming and Blessing Ceremony" at the National Defence College, following his participation in the Songkran festival in Phra Pradaeng. When asked if he was aware of the gunshots during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, which prompted the swift evacuation of the U.S. President and his wife, Anutin confirmed, "I saw it."

In response to inquiries regarding any updates on the situation, Anutin emphasized, "We must be cautious."

During the opening ceremony of the Songkran festival in Phra Pradaeng district, reporters observed heightened security measures. A special operations unit of 10 officers, along with both uniformed and plainclothes police, were deployed to ensure safety. As Anutin moved through the streets amidst the Songkran celebrations, his security detail maintained a vigilant presence.
