Cyber Police Intensify Investigation Into Influencer’s “Junk Content”

Bangkok: Cyber police are intensifying their hunt for influencers behind "junk content," questioning two witnesses and expanding the investigation to prosecute those responsible. Meanwhile, a crocodile-themed police force and a chainsaw company are poised to take legal action against "Bird Wanwangwang."

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chachapandakarn Klaiklung, Deputy Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), revealed the progress in the investigation of influencers who produce inappropriate content, or "junk content," stating that cyber police officers are currently accelerating the collection of evidence to expand the investigation to those involved in online offenses.

Yesterday, officials from the Thai Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau Region 2 invited two victims, considered key witnesses, to give statements to supplement the case file regarding offenses under the Computer Crime Act. Meanwhile, they are examining various aspects of the case, including digital evidence and the disseminated video clips, to analyze and link the findings to other perpetrators.

The case is expected to become clearer early next week. On May 5, 2026, Crocodile Brand Grout Company is scheduled to meet with investigators after suffering damages due to influencer "Bird Wanwangwang" mixing their product with water and using it to apply powder to people during the Songkran festival.

In addition, there is a video clip involving the inappropriate use of electric chainsaws during the Songkran festival. The product company has contacted the cyber police to request clarification and provide further information.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Chachapandakarn stated that preliminary investigations indicate the behavior was inappropriate and distorted the traditional Songkran water festival. He confirmed that authorities will expedite legal proceedings and that details will be released soon.
