Ranong: The Bus Terminal Authority (BTA) and The Transport Company Limited (BKS) have expressed their condolences following a tragic accident involving a bus and a motorcycle in Ranong Province. The collision occurred at the Bang Rin Clock Tower intersection on Highway 4 (Phetkasem Road) in the Bang Rin Subdistrict of Mueang District at 8:20 PM on May 3, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, the accident was reported by the Ranong Bus Station Master and involved a Bangkok-Ban Khao To-Phang Nga bus. The motorcycle driver tragically lost their life in the incident. The bus, owned by BKS, was carrying 24 passengers and 3 crew members, all of whom were unharmed. The journey began at the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2 at 4:30 PM on the day of the incident.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the bus was traveling at 64 kilometers per hour at the time of the collision. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the police. Meanwhile, the bus driver has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
BKS has expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and committed to providing full assistance and support to those affected. The company is taking full responsibility for the damages. Staff from the Ranong Bus Station have been dispatched to coordinate with relevant agencies and assist in travel arrangements, ensuring that passengers are transported to their destinations using non-regular passenger buses.
