Residents of Wang Hin Village Endure Cloudy and Smelly Tap Water for Over Two Months

Uthai thani: Residents of Moo 4, Wang Hin Village, Ban Rai District, Uthai Thani Province, are complaining about cloudy, foul-smelling tap water that causes itching and skin diseases. They have endured this for over two months without any resolution and are appealing to relevant authorities for help.

According to Thai News Agency, villagers have demonstrated the severity of the issue by filling buckets with tap water to show reporters the cloudy, dirty, and foul-smelling water. Despite using water filters, the filtered water appears brownish-cloudy, resembling mud and rust. Hundreds of households in Moo 4, Ban Wang Hin, Wang Hin Subdistrict, Ban Rai District, have been affected by this problem for an extended period.

Ms. Sukanya, a resident of Wang Hin, expressed frustration over the unresolved issue, stating that complaints have been made to various agencies and requests for help posted on social media. However, no solution has been provided yet.

Ms. Sukthanyakarn Nilcham, the Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) Secretary of Wang Hin, acknowledged the residents' hardship. The SAO Chairman has instructed the SAO's water truck to supply the village with water temporarily, allowing villagers to collect water in containers while waiting for assistance from relevant agencies.

The village head of Moo 4, Ban Wang Hin, explained that the water supply originates from an agricultural well and lacks filtration. The old well has stopped producing water due to a malfunctioning pump and a collapsed structure. Currently, there are no funds available for establishing a village water supply system, leaving the community without the means for repairs.
