Narathiwat: The court has granted bail to two naval officers involved in the shooting case of MP Kamolsak, setting the bail amount at 200,000 baht. The officers have declared their intention to contest the charges to the very end. According to Thai News Agency, the case took a significant turn as investigators pressed charges against two senior naval officers for aiding and abetting the attempted murder of Kamolsak Leewamae, a Member of Parliament for the Prachachart Party representing Narathiwat. Despite the court granting them temporary bail, police authorities have stated that their investigation will persist if any evidence emerges implicating others as the "initiators" of the crime. The arrest of Commander Montri Toprasert and Lieutenant Commander Decho Rattanaphan was executed by the Narathiwat Provincial Police. They subsequently filed a request with the Narathiwat Provincial Court for the officers' detention, emphasizing a request to oppose bail due to concerns over potential flight risks or interfe rence with evidence. In the late evening, the Narathiwat Provincial Court reviewed the bail application, which included a cash security deposit of 200,000 baht, submitted by the defendants' legal representative. The court found that both officers complied with the summons from the investigating officers and did not exhibit any intentions of fleeing. Consequently, the court ordered their temporary release on bail, stipulating that they must adhere strictly to court schedules.
