Bangkok: The Television News Photographers Association of Thailand has awarded 200 scholarships to support the children of journalists, aiming to enhance their knowledge and contribution to the nation.
According to Thai News Agency, the scholarships were awarded in a ceremony presided over by notable figures including Mrs. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office; Mr. Mahdi Sarer, Cultural Attach© of the Iranian Embassy in Thailand; Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, IOC Member and Managing Director of Anoma Hotel; and Ms. Paveena Chokpaiboonkit, President of Thai Sporting Goods Co., Ltd. The event took place at the National Broadcasting Corporation of Thailand's conference room.
The scholarships, each worth 3,000 baht, were distributed to children from kindergarten to university level, whose parents are members of the Association of Television News Photographers of Thailand under Royal Patronage. Mr. Siri Saraphol, President of the Association, along with committee members and representatives from various television channels such as Channel 3, Channel 5, Channel 7HD, Channel 9 MCOT, Channel 11 (NBT), and TPBS, were present at the ceremony.
This year, 82 additional scholarships were awarded to high-achieving students, increasing the total scholarship amount to 641,000 baht. The initiative aims to support the education of the association members' children, helping them in their academic pursuits and encouraging them to contribute positively to society and the nation.
The Association of Television News Photographers of Thailand, established 37 years ago, is dedicated to promoting the welfare of its members and organizing charitable activities. It currently includes members from six television stations and consistently provides scholarships and support to foster unity and social assistance.
