Chatchart Accelerates Security Upgrades at 18 Railway Crossings

Bangkok: Governor Chatchart is accelerating efforts to strengthen security at 18 more railway crossings. Meanwhile, relatives of five missing persons have arrived at the Forensic Institute. The Ruam Katanyu Foundation and the Forensic Institute are ready to assist in transporting the bodies of the deceased back to their hometowns free of charge.

According to Thai News Agency, the progress of the train-bus collision at the Makkasan-Asok railway crossing has highlighted ongoing issues with railway crossings. Bangkok Governor Chatchart Sittipunt acknowledged the difficulties posed by these crossings. Although the railway tracks on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road have been completely removed, reducing the number of crossings along Chaeng Wattana and Ngam Wongwan sections, the route originating from Chachoengsao Province towards Yom Ratch still has about 18 railway-road crossings. Despite the presence of existing barriers, there is a need for enhanced security measures.

Five relatives of the eight missing persons have already arrived at the Forensic Institute. The Ruamkatanyu Foundation and the Forensic Institute are providing assistance and helping to transport the bodies and coffins to their hometowns free of charge.
