Bangkok: The Prime Minister has instructed governors and police commanders nationwide to accelerate performance. Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also the Minister of Interior, is preparing to hold a significant policy meeting at Government House focused on enhancing security measures across the country. The agenda includes accelerating the crackdown on cybercrime and drug trafficking, promoting safe tourism, and strengthening border security in alignment with government policy.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Charnvirakul is slated to chair a workshop on driving security operations in accordance with government policy. The event is scheduled for May 21st at 8:00 AM at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House. Attendees will include governors from all 76 provinces, provincial police commanders, and other relevant security agencies. The workshop will commence with a report by Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, detailing the Ministry's role in implementing security operations according to government policy. This will be followed by a report from Police General Kittirat Panpetch, Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, on the police's role in these operations. A video presentation will highlight the critical nature of these security initiatives before the Prime Minister addresses the assembly.
The workshop will feature group discussions divided into three primary topics to gather insights and suggestions for operational strategies. Group 1 will discuss enhancing border security and tackling drug-related crimes, influential figures, and economic threats to social security. Group 2 will focus on the prevention and suppression of technological crimes, ensuring tourist safety, and providing systematic assistance to disaster victims. The third group will explore the integration of government data for efficient management, aiming to standardize and connect digital databases and CCTV systems for improved security monitoring and crime suppression.
Each group will present their findings and recommendations to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior. The Prime Minister will then provide comments and suggestions to refine the strategies further. The workshop aims to utilize provincial governors as central coordinators for local initiatives, with provincial police commanders enforcing laws and sharing information systems to ensure effective and tangible outcomes.
