Suriya Jungrungruangkit Joins Ordination Ceremony Amidst Health Concerns

Udon thani: Mr. Suriya Jungrungruangkit, the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, attended the ordination ceremony of Mr. Rachen Silapraya, the former Director-General of the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation, at Wat Pa Ban Tat in Mueang Udon Thani District. This personal mission followed a medical check-up, highlighting an eventful period for Mr. Suriya as he balances health issues with professional commitments.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suriya experienced fatigue and fainted while on duty in Udon Thani province late last night, leading to his hospitalization. After close monitoring by doctors, he was discharged this morning. Despite a medical recommendation to rest, Mr. Suriya resumed his duties, reflecting his dedication to his responsibilities, particularly concerning water management and other critical preparations for the ministry.

In recent weeks, Mr. Suriya has been actively engaged in various duties, including a visit to Chanthaburi Province to assess the fruit and agricultural situation. This continuous work routine, coupled with recent cold symptoms, contributed to his fatigue. Nevertheless, his commitment to his role remained evident as he continued with scheduled activities.

After the ordination ceremony, Mr. Suriya proceeded to the Ban Sam Phrao irrigation project to assess the water situation and address local concerns. His visit also included monitoring preparations for the Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026 at Nong Dae Wetland, demonstrating his ongoing dedication to both immediate and long-term agricultural initiatives.
