Road Surface Restored on Lat Phrao Road as Investigation Begins into Subsidence Cause

Bangkok: The road surface on Lat Phrao Road has been restored after relevant agencies worked throughout the night to repair the collapsed road. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Permanent Secretary is preparing to coordinate with relevant agencies to investigate the cause in detail to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

According to Thai News Agency, a section of Lat Phrao Road in front of Bang Kapi Market had subsided, but the road surface has now been restored after Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and related agencies worked throughout the night to repair it. They poured cement slabs into the subsided area to reinforce the structure, followed by the application of quick-drying concrete and road surface preparation. The materials will be allowed to set and safety checks will be conducted before the road reopens to traffic.

Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, stated that preparations are underway to coordinate with relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the collapse in detail, as well as assess the structural integrity of the area, in order to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
