According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national football team, known as the "War Elephants," held their first training session at the National Stadium 16 in Vientiane. This session marked their preparation for the opening group B match in the 2026 ASEAN Championship against Laos, scheduled for July 25th. The training, which spanned approximately one hour, focused primarily on physical recovery.
Ahead of the training, Yotsakorn Burapha, a striker for the Thai team, expressed that the team is well-prepared. He mentioned that the transition to Laos was smooth due to the similar weather conditions to Thailand. Despite feeling some pressure as this is his first tournament with the senior team, Yotsakorn is determined to perform his best and is confident in securing three points. He urged fans to support the team.
Nattapong Sairiya, a defender, noted that the team's readiness is around 80-90%. He emphasized their commitment to thorough preparation, acknowledging the challenges of the tournament. However, he assured that the team would give their all to secure victory and aim for the championship. The match against Laos is set to take place at the National Stadium No. 16 in Vientiane on July 25th at 8:00 PM.
