Bannang sata: The 2nd DAF Thailand 2026 International Equestrian Archery Competition has opened in Bannang Sata District, Yala Province, with great enthusiasm.
According to Thai News Agency, the "DAF Thailand 2026 Archery Festival" (DND Archery Festival) commenced on August 1st, 2026, at the DND Horse Mountain Stadium in Bannang Sata Subdistrict. The event was vibrant and captivating, showcasing a blend of international sport and local culture.
This year, the chairman of the organizing committee, Mr. Dullah Salo, announced that the 'DAF : DND : Archery Festival 2026 Thailand' will span from July 31st to August 2nd, 2026, at the DND Horse Mountain Racetrack. Athletes from at least 12 countries in Southeast Asia will participate. The festival includes equestrian archery competitions for both stationary and dynamic target archery, checkers, Anashid performances, outdoor film screenings, an exhibition on equestrian archery, and a showcase of local products from Bannang Sata district, promoting local identity with traditional food and seasonal fruits.
Among the highlights are various durian varieties and high-quality local products. This competition provides an opportunity for Thai athletes to enhance their skills and exchange experiences with international counterparts. It aims to elevate equestrian sports to international standards, preserve sporting culture, and foster love and unity in the area. Moreover, it serves as a catalyst to stimulate tourism and the economy in the region, making equestrian sports more popular and developed, while also supporting and promoting them as a Sunnah of the Prophet.
Dr. Patcharaphee Pathan, a pediatric surgeon from Phra Nang Klao Hospital in Nonthaburi Province, who usually trains in equestrian archery in Bangkok and is participating in this competition for the first time, shared her admiration for the event. She noted the excellent atmosphere, where everyone cheered together, offered advice, and helped each other warmly.
The "DAF Thailand 2026 Equestrian Archery Competition" marks another significant milestone, highlighting the potential of Bannang Sata District, Yala Province, as a sports tourism destination that combines the excitement of competition with friendship, culture, and the stunning natural beauty of the southern border region.
