Nakhon luang: Royal funeral water and wreaths have been bestowed by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen to honor the teachers who lost their lives in the tragic school shooting. Funeral rites are being conducted at various temples, attended by grieving families, relatives, friends, and students.
According to Thai News Agency, at Wat Tanod in Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Mr. Chawanin Wongsatitjirakal, the Governor of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, led the royal bathing ceremony for Ms. Thiwaphon Wanich, known as "Kru Muay," who was killed in the mass shooting at Thepsirin Nonthaburi School. Royal wreaths were presented from Their Majesties at the coffin, and the body was accepted under royal patronage. The ceremony saw attendance from high-ranking officials, including Professor Dr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The temple was filled with mourners, including former and current students of Kru Muay, who traveled from various provinces to honor their beloved teacher.
At Sala Nonthawat Wiboonprachasarn, Wat Bang Oichang in Nonthaburi Province, royal water was presented for the bathing of Ms. Prapaporn Konsila, or Teacher Paew. Mr. Julaphan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labour, represented the Royal Household Bureau, while Ms. Panisara Kanjanachitra, Deputy Governor of Nonthaburi, presented the royal wreath. Teacher Paew's family, colleagues, and officials gathered in significant numbers, creating an atmosphere of deep sorrow.
Mr. Thanapat Somsri, Teacher Paew's husband, expressed his profound grief, recounting their life together since 2009 and the family they built with their son. The news of her death left him in shock, and he shared his feelings of loss and uncertainty about the future without her.
In Sisaket Province, the body of Mr. Kittipong Somrat, also known as "Teacher Pong," was returned to his birthplace for funeral rites. His family and relatives were overcome with grief, with his wife clutching a photograph of him. A royal bathing ceremony is scheduled, with His Majesty King Rama X presiding over the Buddhist funeral rites, culminating in the cremation at Wat Ban Kantrom Noi.
The nation mourns the loss of these dedicated educators, whose lives were tragically cut short, as royal honors are bestowed to commemorate their contributions and service.
