Nan: The Minister of Agriculture has directed the Royal Irrigation Department to deploy machinery and resources to aid communities affected by severe flooding in Nan Province. Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit visited the flood-hit areas, emphasizing the need for swift assistance to those impacted by the disaster.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suriya, accompanied by Mr. Witthaya Kaewmee, Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department, and other officials, assessed the flood situation exacerbated by continuous heavy rainfall. The visit included a stop at Wat Ban Pong in Pua District, where the delegation distributed 100 relief packages to boost morale among flood victims and provide immediate support.
Mr. Witthaya Kaewmee informed that the department has deployed water pumps to rapidly drain floodwaters and minimize damage. Officials have been tasked with monitoring water levels closely and keeping the public continuously informed to protect homes, farmland, and economic areas.
Minister Suriya has instructed the Royal Irrigation Department to expedite public assistance and deploy heavy machinery and water trucks to clear affected areas and restore transportation routes. He urged residents to stay informed through official channels to effectively manage and overcome the crisis.
