Phang nga: Police are hunting for a ruthless young lover who broke into a house and fatally shot his girlfriend's husband. A tragic incident occurred in broad daylight when a 38-year-old man broke into the home of a woman he had a relationship with, pulled out a short-barreled shotgun, and shot her 56-year-old husband in the head, killing him instantly. He then fled on a motorcycle into the mountains. Police and local officials have surrounded the area and are coordinating with relatives to persuade him to surrender.
According to Thai News Agency, at approximately 10:49 AM, police officers from Takua Thung Police Station in Phang Nga Province received a report of a shooting inside a house at number 51, Moo 2, Tha Yu Subdistrict, Takua Thung District, Phang Nga Province. They dispatched a team, along with Pol. Col. Prakob Boonkhwan, the station's superintendent, to investigate.
At the scene, the body of Mr. Ekkarit Saetan, 56, a school janitor in Phang Nga province, was found shot in the head at close range, dead inside his house. Authorities found wounds behind his right ear (his right ear was severed), two wounds on his right cheek, and one wound on his right forehead. A shotgun shell wad was also found near the gas stove.
Initial investigations revealed that the perpetrator was Mr. Kitti Na Nakorn, 38 years old, a resident of Tha Yu Subdistrict, Takua Thung District. He used a homemade Thai-style short-barreled shotgun to commit the crime before fleeing with the weapon.
The deceased's wife told police that around 10:30 a.m., before the incident, her husband was sitting by the back door while she was eating longan fruit at a nearby dining table. She then heard the bedroom door, located in the middle of the house, open. She went to investigate and found the perpetrator entering the house.
According to initial statements, the perpetrator had secretly been having an affair with the deceased's wife. On August 24th, the woman ended the relationship, which angered the perpetrator, who then threatened to kill the husband if she continued to end the relationship.
At the time of the incident, the victim's wife saw the perpetrator carrying a firearm and tried to stop him from harming her husband, but the perpetrator ignored her. He then walked to the back of the house and shot Mr. Ekkarit once in the head at close range, resulting in his immediate death.
After the incident, Mr. Kitti fled on a red Honda motorcycle, license plate unknown, wearing a blue sports shirt and shorts, heading towards Bang Lam area, Takua Thung District.
Subsequently, police officers from Takua Thung Police Station, along with administrative officials from Takua Thung District, mobilized forces to surround the mountainous area of Ban Bang Lam in order to apprehend the suspect. Officers found the suspect's motorcycle abandoned at the foot of the mountain, suggesting the suspect had fled on foot up the mountain.
Recently, the Takua Thung District Chief visited the area and coordinated with local leaders and relatives of the suspect to help persuade him to come down from the mountain and surrender to the authorities. Authorities are currently surrounding the area and continuously searching for the suspect. It is expected that the suspect will be brought down from the mountain tonight before legal proceedings begin.
