Benjarong Suwannakiri Appointed as Deputy Managing Director and Head of Strategy for SET

Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has announced the appointment of Benjarong Suwannakiri as Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate Strategy and Finance, effective October 1, 2026. The decision was confirmed by the SET board with the aim of leveraging Suwannakiri's extensive experience to advance the strategic growth and cooperation within Thailand's capital market.

According to Thai News Agency, Assadej Kongsiri, Director and President of SET, expressed confidence in Suwannakiri's ability to drive strategic development and enhance business operations. Suwannakiri's background in finance, investment, and government policy is expected to play a crucial role in executing the SET's strategies and aligning them with the evolving market dynamics. His appointment is seen as a step forward in strengthening cooperation with various sectors and supporting the capital market's development.

Suwannakiri brings over 17 years of experience in the finance and banking industry. His career includes roles in corporate strategy, finance, and business development across organizations such as TMB Thanachart Bank Public Company Limited and the Export-Import Bank of Thailand. Additionally, Suwannakiri has served as an Assistant Minister of Finance and an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister. His academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of San Francisco, as well as Master's and Doctoral degrees in Economics from Cornell University, USA.
