Security Forces Await Clearance for Inspection in Narathiwat Province Conflict Zone

Bangkok: Following clashes in the Tawe mountain range in Narathiwat province, security forces remain deployed around the area, awaiting permission to conduct an inspection once the situation permits.

According to Thai News Agency, the Public Relations Center of the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward Headquarters reports that after a clash between a joint special operations unit stationed in Narathiwat province and a group of insurgents in the Tawe mountain range in Tambon Chuap, Cho Airong district, authorities are maintaining a strong presence and controlling the area around the incident site to monitor and prevent potential incidents, while continuously assessing the situation.

However, authorities have not yet been able to thoroughly inspect the site of the clash due to weather conditions and the dense, difficult-to-access terrain. They are currently awaiting favorable and safe conditions before conducting an inspection to ascertain the facts and accurately assess the operation. The mission is not yet complete, and officers continue to perform their duties in the area.

Authorities have exercised increased caution in their operations and are requesting public cooperation in avoiding the area and refraining from disseminating or forwarding unconfirmed information, images, or news to prevent misunderstandings and disruption of the mission.
