Nong prue: A 35-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Nittaya, caused chaos in Nong Prue, crashing her car into multiple vehicles, including a motorbike with a sidecar, and plowing into a convenience store and a cannabis shop, injuring several people.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred when Ms. Nittaya, who was found to be intoxicated, drove her white sedan into a parked motorcycle, scattering items and causing significant damage to nearby shops. CCTV footage from the cannabis shop captured the crash at 9:17 PM. Instead of stopping to assess the damage, the driver quickly reversed the car and fled the scene.
Local residents and the cannabis shop owner pursued the vehicle, which had also collided with a motorcyclist on Soi Wat Boon Samphan, Khao Noi, Nong Prue Subdistrict, injuring the rider. The driver continued to evade capture until reaching Soi Thung Klom-Tal Man 14, where police intercepted the vehicle. The chase covered a distance of over 3 kilometers.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers discovered open beer bottles inside, and Ms. Nittaya appeared visibly intoxicated. Despite the severe damage to the front of her car, she refused to cooperate with the authorities and was taken to Nong Prue Police Station for further questioning and a breathalyzer test.
Eyewitnesses described the car speeding and swerving before losing control and crashing into a motorcycle with a sidecar, sending the sidecar flying into a nearby grocery store. The shop owner recounted how the white sedan suddenly rammed into the parked motorcycle before speeding away.
Investigators confirmed that Ms. Nittaya's blood alcohol level was 149 milligrams per cent, far exceeding the legal limit of 50 milligrams per cent. She now faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, hit-and-run, and property damage.
