Bangkok:The Central Administrative Court dismissed the lawsuit filed by Dr. Soran against the NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) selection committee, concluding that the committee acted lawfully.
According to Thai News Agency, the court found that Dr. Soran did not meet the necessary qualifications due to his compensation from a government agency. The case involved the Selection Committee's decision disqualifying Dr. Soran from holding the NBTC Chairman position, arguing that his work as a physician receiving hourly pay was a conflict.
Dr. Soran's lawsuit claimed the committee exceeded its authority, impacting his duties and causing significant harm to organizational administration. The Supreme Administrative Court had previously overturned a lower court's order, allowing Dr. Soran's lawsuit to proceed, but the Central Administrative Court ultimately upheld the committee's decision.
The court ruled that Dr. Soran's continued work with Ramathibodi Faculty of Medicine, where he received hourly compensation and used the faculty's facilities, constituted receiving benefits from a government agency. This contradicted his claim of independent practice and justified the committee's decision to disqualify him.
