Bangkok:Member of Parliament Chaichana Dechdecho has urged the Governor of Bangkok to direct district offices to urgently inspect illegal buildings converted into KTVs, pubs, and other entertainment venues. Concerns have been raised about structural safety and the risk of collapse in such unauthorized modifications.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaichana, who is a member and advisor to the Police Committee of the House of Representatives, emphasized the need for immediate action to identify buildings altered or expanded without proper authorization. He stressed the importance of public safety, highlighting the potential dangers posed by unauthorized building modifications that could compromise structural integrity.
Mr. Chaichana advocated for proactive inspections by district offices to prevent accidents before they occur. He called for a thorough survey and assessment of high-risk buildings, including checks on permits, occupancy, and structural condition, to ensure compliance with established safety criteria. This initiative aims to avert potential building collapses and safeguard public safety in the future.
